American Idol 7 - Boy's Night 2

Picture taken from the American Idol site

Quite honestly - I was really bored. There was no WOW factor!! Argh.. Felt like it was such a waste of time. I won't bother anymore with an individual critique, but here's what I think..

David Hernandez - now that's one of the great performances of the night. I never thought he was that good! I agree with Mindy when she said that David's voice reminded her or Elliot Yamin! Good call Minds!!

David Archuleta - I am very much biased with his kid. I feel that he's the best one out there. One thing though, I am so afraid for him - I think he's peaking too soon. I'm so scared that he'll crash towards the end of the show. I hope he won't - but man this kid is really good. I love they shy-ness and innocence!!

The others were quite forgettable - honest!

Why is that I feel like the boys do not know how to take criticisms? You can see it in their faces that they're very much irritated. Guys - you need to cool down - we all know your good - but please please please - don't get it into your heads! Humble down..

Dum dum dum duuuuuuuuuuuuuum....

The unexpected just happened last Saturday while vacationing in Sagada...

I should change that name already - it doesn't sound fitting! Hahaha...

American Idol 7 - Girl's Night

Borrowed from the American Idol Website

It's the ladies' turn to wow us... Did they? Here's what I think

Kristy Lee Cook
Since she was the first one - it was obvious that she was nervous. I couldn't feel the song - seems like she couldn't give out the proper expression. I know she has a good voice but it didn't show much with the song.

Joanne Borgella
I love this song - but I didn't think it suited her. There were a lot of pitch problems (IMO) but hey - what do I know right?

Alaina Whitaker
This is what I'm talking about!! I can't believe she's just 16!! Her voice reminds me of Carrie Underwood's! (who's dating Chace Crawford aka Nate of Gossip Girl) I love love love this song! Soooooo cute! Nice job! I think of the first 3 - this is the best so far!!

Amanda Overmyer
Firstly - I like her - but her performance - I couldn't understand what she was saying!! It seemed like she was mumbling - maybe because I wasn't familiar with the song. But in fairness - she did make it sound like a rock song. I like the musky-ness of her voice - and she's different!

Amy Davis
It was a bad start and continued on.. A lot of pitch problems (IMO - again) But man, she does look really really good! I mean compared to the Top 24 announcement - she looked really haggard!

Brooke White
Her performance was too sweet for me. She needs to learn how to work the camera - she's pretty so she can romance the camera. I like her voice though - good thing - in the chorus - she was able to save the song! :)

Alexandrea Lushington
Great voice! I must say - I didn't see that coming, I really didn't!

Kady Maloy
She had a wonderful start - very good voice! I agree with Randy that she lost it midway. Wonderful voice though!

I think Simon is getting restless because so far - no one has performed to impress.

Asia'h Epperson
Loved her performance. I have no complaints! Love her voice - love the song. So far, one of the best.

Ramiele Malubay
I'm going to be biased on this one - since she's Pinay - i LOVED it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a great voice!! Loved everything about her performance! I have this theory - put a Pinoy/Pinay singer on the competition - for sure they'll go far.
Let's go Ramiele!! Confidence up!! Yehaaaaa!!

Syesha Mercado
Good perfomance I think it was a little better than Ramiele's but I still like Ramiele better! Hehehe...

Carly Smithson
I think she didn't do her best. It was just a so-so performance. Not the best - I think she might have sang below par. She was really good during the auditions. *Sad*

I get the feeling that this batch is kinda laid back or rather got too lax in performing. It seemed like it got into their heads that they're part of the Top 24 so they're slacking off. I think they're forgetting that they're fighting for the Top 6 positions (Girls and Boys).. Tsk.. Tsk.. It's crucial for them - they will need to do better next week! That is for those who won't get booted out! It's going to be 'bye, bye' for 2 guys and 2 girls!!

American Idol 7 - Boy's Night

Something to look forward to every week! Finally! American Idol is back!! Woohoo!! Here are my take on their performances:

David Hernandez
Liked his voice - but since he was first - there were jitters.

Chikezie Eze
My Gosh - his performance was really boring. This is one of the forgettable ones for me. Sorry guys! And justifying his suit to Simon! He could have just flashed a smile and instead argued on it! First time for me to see this kind of answering back to Simon Cowell.

David Cook
This guy, I loved his performance!! I admit that I'm partial t rockers - and that's one of the main things why I thought his performance worked.

Jason Yaeger
I found it boring - it was like he was singing in a lounge. Simon's comment hit it right on.

Robbie Carrico
His perfomance was okay also. Nothing spectacular but just okay. Song choice was okay. Too many okay-s, okay?

David Archuleta
Loved his groove, loved his voice, loved his shy-ness! Loved everything about him!! He's so cute! I think he may just be 'it' for the boys. He can be packaged very well (when he wins) and he has a great great voice!! He knows how to romance the camera (remember Constantine?) thus - performance wise - very good!!

Danny Noriega
He has such a powerful voice - I know he'll do well in the competition but his performance was just okay for me. There was no 'wow' it was just okay. Found him a little bit 'ahem' with his retort to Simon's comment. Watch out kid!

Luke Menard
Performance was too plain. It was too safe. I have to agree with Simon on this one it was forgettable. It was like he was just singing in front of a mirror and not singing to impress.

Colton Berry
Very good voice! I wasn't able to catch his earlier audition though. He was just okay. I am starting to feel like most everyone's performance is bordering safe to boring.

Garrett Hayley
I like his voice but it was a dead performance (IMO) He could have done better - but I guess with the theme - it was kind of hard.

Jason Castro
It was cute and looked like he was enjoying his performance - but something's missing. I'm not sure what it was - but honestly - I wasn't impressed with his performance - at all. Contrary to the judges - it was not up to par. I think he can do better.

Michael Johns
He reminds me of Heath Ledger - obviously, he's Australian! Pitch problems (I think..) but overall - it worked out! He set such a good mood, looked great on stage - and the best thing was - he sang very very well!! This is the best performance for me. Reminds me of Chris Daughtry (who I absolutely love!)

Honestly - I was quite shocked to see some of the male contestants share a piece of their minds to Simon. I mean those kinds of things are not easy to forget! They're quite memorable! And some seem not to know how to take criticisms. Was it just me??

Top 3 in my book: David Archuleta, David Cook and Micheal Johns.

On a lighter note - I am soooooooo looking forward to tomorrow's performance! I am excited to see and her Carly, Amanda and Ramiele. I can't wait!!
